DNA or ISLAMIC DNA

I was reading an article on over the mis-guided issue of ‘DNA can not be a primary evidence for rape cases’. This simple case been made contradicted and ill-logical by our society highly educated religious scholars. The shout goes to the Council of Islamic Ideology, a constitutional body, that ruled out Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) sample is not acceptable as primary evidence in case of a rape but However, it can be used as secondary or supporting evidence, thanks to them for giving words on some sort of support to the evidence.

The rape cases are complicated all over the world, even with the enhancing innovations in every day technology but the justice been mostly given to the victims by the help of this highly technological tests of DNA. Irony is this, in our culture the officials don’t even treat the rape women victims as a pious or respected citizen, that lead them to show their negligence or less-importance in dealing with such cases. A recent example to this was Mukhtaran Mai story, the case was highlighted all over the world and she was portrayed as a symbol of respect for all of us, but unfortunately our justice system treated her other way round. Here comes the question – is this what any religion treat us as how to treat women, of-course NOT. The Islamic guidance and Quranic versus describes number of times on the importance and respect of a woman, all the men and women are equal, absolutely there is no difference between them and both are promised the same reward for good conduct and the same punishments for evil conduct.

The Verse goes like this “They (your wives, sisters and mothers) are your garment and you are a garment for them’.

Five years back, a girl was raped inside the compound of Father of the Nation tomb / mausoleum, its the most respected building in Pakistan where millions visit the place every year to pay homage to the founding father of the country. The place is guarded by the local police. Armed forces personnel on 24 hours duty round the clock around the actual tomb – a much respected duty for each individual. The girl didn’t commit the suicide, she was brave enough to launch her complaint with the police, the police came into action (may be they had some respect left for the nations founder), got arrested one of the guy and later on with the help of DNA tests they captured two others. Those two guys got released by the judiciary on the excuse that DNA proofs aren’t reliable enough and no one has seen (witness) the girl being raped – so no witnesses.

DNA is the only material present in all living organisms, its the only fundamental material that gives distinctive characteristics of someone. These religious council members can accept ID card identification, Passport bar code reader, new mobile phone techy gadgets but cant accept the DNA.

Few decades ago, same religious fanatics who mostly are filled with excessive and single minded zeal considered Radio as an ‘EVIL’ box, Cars as the rides of hell and unimaginable nonsense words or ‘FATWAS’ about TV. Today they all drives non-muslim maker cars, gadgets, clothes, watches and above all the guns / weapons – all Russian, european and west productions.

They must have had gone through few medical treatments and operations like heart surjeries and by passes in their life, wasnt those one were medically science governed technology? Yes it was the same science which gave gave them second life and now they are healthy enough to live a happy life.

My and my countrymen requests them to please change your thinking instead adopt less fanatism, be modest, loyal to people, give justice and follow the path which lead you to become a good human being.

Autumn Leaves.

Walking on the fallen autumn leaves,
I kept on thinking.

Kept on compromising on life,
Kept on writing poetry.

Remembering the monsoon days,
We had together.

Remembering the cozy beach walks,
When sky used to drizzle on us.

Now its hard to manage life,
There is no story in my eyes left.

Can someone bring me back my days,
My feelings my thoughts my memories.

My boat is sinking in this flood,
I am the river flowing in into another sea.

My life is like autumn leaves, autumn leaves.

London Olympics 2012, Boxing Semi Finals – 10 Aug at Excel Arena London

after watching the grand finale of women football final of London 2012 Olympics, i decided to go and watch Boxing Semi finals at Excel Arena London. As i already bought the tickets long time ago and was truly amazed with the colorful atmosphere and environment at Wembley for Football final, i was well prepared mentally and physically to have a blast of Boxing. The Excel Arena is just an awesome arena, the way officials and management built this huge complex is something they deserve a big Pat on their backs. These guys really worked hard day and night to produce a quality time and infrastructure to the crowd and public. The crowd was from all over the world, dancing, singing, chanting slogans, hugging each other, clapping, kids playing, drinking, food, souvenirs etc – you name it and it was there. May our world be like the same in Peace and Smiling – Amen. I am posting few pics of the event that will be in my heart and thoughts throughout my life and until i am breathing.

London Olympics 2012 Women Football Final – 9 Aug at Wembley London (USA vs JPN)

A Dream Came True.

Since childhood, we all have been brought up watching Olympics. Olympics are the mother of all the sporting events. I always thought about that one day i would be watching it live instead on the media or TV sets. It doesnt matter if my countrymen would be playing in that particular game or not, its just a matter of Unity and Peace in sports to support the Olympics. The day came, after done some massive and detailed planning and research, i finally managed to get the tickets for two olympics events. Football and the Boxing. Initially i was little astonished when i was trying to get the tickets online, as i am being non European couldn’t get the ticket online from official website of London 2012 OIympics. I dont want to go into details here, just added few lines on how i manage the tickets, i will give details about it in my next blogs. Keep reading.

Here i just want to share what my eyes saw, my companion CANON camera captured the breathtaking scenes of Women football final. It was the biggest gathering in any of the Olympics games – 80230 official attendance.

Edinburgh Military Tattoo – Aug 2012

During my recent visit to UK to watch few events at the Olympics, my friends asked me to visit worlds famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I decided to take the train from London to Edinburgh and had an expreience of worlds most beautiful train ride in Scotland. The festival was awesome, starting from Theaters, plays, dances to Street Performers – everything was awesome, just speechless. The old and beautiful historical city of Edinburgh was giving looks of a bride.

I thought to share some pictures of the festival, so decided to start with Military Tattoo. The military bands from all over the world come here to perform.

Reflection

May be “A” wrote it for me, may be this is one of so many complaints !!!  i am not sure but read these lines somewhere, wanted to share.

I heard about you once,

transparent man with iron pressed pants.

You look familiar,

Even though i can see through you.

You follow me on sun-lit days

and lamp-lit nights.

You shine in silver stream

and float it in framed photographs.

Now you gaze in glass

and hover in the hues.

Your presence is a comfort,

a clue that i exist.

Doubt reigns in the dark …..

“A”.

No Desire Remain – Heart Touching (Another Dimension)

The soothing sufi poetry of Harzrat Shah Niaz, beautifully sung by Abida Parveen, She takes you where you have never been before.

With beautiful translation in English by Anonymous .

Wonder has made me needless from both Worlds, This Sleeping has made me like awaken.

When the eye of this sad heart Opened, No wetness and dampness is left.

My eye got such Amazement that, The effect of effect less got on me.

That sound was heard by the ear of Life, Only thing left was Oblivion.

As wondrous love revealed itself, The fairy vanished .. The ecstasy lost.

Nor you remained .. Nor i was found, Mere oblivion was all there was.

O surrender in love, You have given me a taste that pales all worldliness.

No desire remains, In the heart filled with submission.

Neither distance nor fear Neither hope nor prayer, Neither thoughts of Subjugation, nor desire of Godliness.

No Place for exchange of words, no occasion for further quest,

Where neither consciousness reaches, nor thoughts transcend its realm.

No one resides, neither habitation exist, Is where this wandering heart has come to camp.

Where there is no Union, no separation, no sorrow, no joy,

What is said to be an endless oblivion, I enter such a slumber.

It is better to die than to live in your world.

Was listening this great sad track by great Lata Jee, thought of to translate it and share it.

It is better to die than to live in your world
Those tears and grief come, wherever I go.

There should have been some house
Where I could have found some love
There are those unfamiliar faces wherever I go.

Oh the ONE in the sky
Tell me what is wrong in that
Even if four gusts of happiness pass here.

Mortal Beings

Our needs
Our thoughts
Our wishes
Goes on and on
Like the flowing river
Like the floating ships
Like the blowing wind
Like the soothing waves
Hitting the shores
Slowly saying to the wet shores
One day this all will be gone
All will be vanished
Like the thunderstorm
Like the flooding of rivers
Like the suspended dust in the wind
Only the memoirs will be there
Good deeds bad deeds
Will be left in people’s heart
We are just like a
Dust particle in the sunbeam.
